Adopt, Don’t Shop

Adoption Process

Adopting a dog is a big life decision, and we want to help ensure you’re fully ready to welcome your new family member—forever. Our goal is for your home to be their last stop on their journey to finding love and security.

The first step in the adoption process is research—take time to learn which type of dog best fits your home, family and lifestyle. If you find a dog at Hank’s Haven that feels like the perfect match, please complete our Adoption Application.

Once we review your application, we’ll contact any applicants who are the most compatible. The first step is to complete a home visit, followed up by interviews with your vet and personal references. The last step in the adoption approval process is to arrange a meet and greet with your potential new family member. Please keep in mind that this process can take time. We never rush adoptions because we always put the dogs’ best interests first. Your patience means the world to us—and we promise, the dogs are worth it!
