American Shorthair (short coat) : : Female
December 3, 2025 email from Aldergrove - I would recommend to monitor the cat for further seizures and see how she responds to the phenobarb. The phenobarb level should be checked in about 3-4 weeks time from starting the phenobarb ( will need to refill phenobarb for a longer duration). If the cat is not responding well to the phenobarb and there are continuing seizures then may need to discuss further anti seizure meds . If continued worsening of the seizures then can consider neurology referral and possible testing for Toxoplasmosis. When the seizures are reasonably well controlled ( 1 seizure per month) we can consider spay and umbilical hernia repair More about GlitchGood with Adults, Needs special care Special Needs: has a suspected seizure disorder |
