At Hank’s Haven, every life we touch leaves a lasting paw print on our hearts. Though these beloved souls are no longer with us, their memories continue to inspire our work and remind us why we do what we do.

Remembering Our Friends
Scarlett
December 4, 2025 — Scarlett
Despite extensive training, support, and professional evaluations, it became clear that Scarlett could not safely move forward into an adoptive home. With heavy hearts, we made the difficult decision to let her go through behavioral euthanasia. Scarlett is at peace now, and we will hold her sweet spirit in our hearts until we meet again at the rainbow bridge.
Freya
October 25, 2025 — Freya
Freya, rescued from a northern community three years ago, sadly crossed the rainbow bridge after falling suddenly and unexpectedly ill. She was first fostered by our Director, Megan, who quickly fell in love and became a proud “foster fail.” Freya was deeply loved by her family, and though their time together was far too short, her spirit will forever remain in their hearts.
Storm
August 9, 2025 — Storm
Storm held a special place in our hearts during the nearly year she was in our care. Upon arrival, she underwent major surgery to remove a blockage and a mass—conditions that ultimately led to her passing months later. Despite her challenges, Storm faced each day with courage and love.
Jed
January 28, 2022 — Jed
Our brave Jedi Knight crossed the rainbow bridge after a long and valiant fight. Jed survived a gunshot wound that cost him his leg and battled a progressive seizure disorder that worsened despite treatment. When he could no longer walk or enjoy life as he once did, his devoted foster mom helped him find peace. Jed’s strength and gentle spirit will never be forgotten.
