Forever in Our Hearts -  Remembering Our Friends

At Hank’s Haven, every life we touch leaves a lasting paw print on our hearts. Though these beloved souls are no longer with us, their memories continue to inspire our work and remind us why we do what we do.

We remember with love and gratitude all of our cherished alumni and sanctuary dogs who have crossed the rainbow bridge

Run free, sweet friends. You will always be loved, and you will always be part of the Hank’s Haven family.

Brandi

February 26, 2026 - Brandi

In the most beautiful and unexpected way, Brandi found her forever family through a palliative foster placement that quickly turned into adoption. Though her time with them was far too short, Brandi spent her final months surrounded by unwavering love and devotion. She passed peacefully at home with her family by her side after a long and courageous battle with cancer — a true testament to the power of compassion, rescue, and the extraordinary people who open their hearts to dogs in need.

Scarlett

December 4, 2025 — Scarlett
Despite extensive training, support, and professional evaluations, it became clear that Scarlett could not safely move forward into an adoptive home. With heavy hearts, we made the difficult decision to let her go through behavioral euthanasia. Scarlett is at peace now, and we will hold her sweet spirit in our hearts until we meet again at the rainbow bridge.

Meera

November 2025 - Meera

After just under three years with her loving adoptive family, Meera began experiencing lameness—a condition not uncommon in Great Danes. She was peacefully laid to rest and will be deeply missed by her furever family and cherished fur siblings.

Freya

October 25, 2025 — Freya
Freya, rescued from a northern community three years ago, sadly crossed the rainbow bridge after falling suddenly and unexpectedly ill. She was first fostered by our Director, Megan, who quickly fell in love and became a proud “foster fail.” Freya was deeply loved by her family, and though their time together was far too short, her spirit will forever remain in their hearts.

Brooksie

October 11, 2025 - Brooksie

Brooksie was adopted in 2020 and after 6.5 beautiful years with his forever family, unfortunately crossed the rainbow bridge after a hemangiosarcoma had burst. We was so loved and will be dearly missed
